Nestlé Purina currently has an opening for a Maintenance Technician (C) at its Flagstaff, AZ manufacturing facility.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

 

Experience (Years/Type): 6 months of manufacturing and industrial maintenance experience required

Skills: Must exhibit the following competencies:  Dependability, Teamwork, Working Safely, Productivity, Decision Making Ability.

Preferred candidates will have knowledge of:

  • PLC instrumentation, calibration, troubleshooting and repair

  • Mechanical, pneumatic, electrical troubleshooting and repair

  • Troubleshoot and repair filed devices such as photo eyes, limit switches, level probes and proximity switches

  • Welding, brazing and soldering experience

  • Sheet metal and stainless steel fabrication

  • Basic PC experience

  • Ability to use various hand tools, power tools and shop machinery (mills, lathes, etc.)

    Basic shop mathematics

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety- Engage in a safe and healthy work environment in order to strive for zero accidents. Work in a safe manner. Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with the plant policies, local laws and OSHA/MSHA Standards. Trained and have clear expectations on safety observations and on safety behaviors. Demonstrate safe behaviors and conduct themselves by “walking the walk”. Ensure completion of behavioral based safety observations and communication. Promote an open environment for safety continuous improvement while holding a level of individual accountability.
 
Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls systems such as motor control circuits, process monitoring systems and automated control circuitry through programmable logic controllers (PLC’s).  Be familiar with and possess the ability to troubleshoot field devices such as photo eyes, limit switches, level probes and proximity switches.
 
Will use test equipment such as voltmeters, process simulators, and calibration test equipment as well as troubleshoot software issues.
 
 Will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators and packaging equipment.
 
Will be responsible for learning all related plant automation systems.
